How to use Merge tags in Benchmark CRM?

Merge Tags (also known as Personalization or Data Tags) allow you to customize your emails to keep your customers more engaged. Merge tags for the default fields are pre-defined for all the users. Tags are automatically created when you add custom fields to the modules such as contacts or leads, you can use these merge tags to create an email template.

Locating merge tags in Benchmark CRM account.

  1. Click on the avatar in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to locate Templates, and select Email Templates.
  3. Then select Create Template.
  4. Select the Record Type for which you want to create a template.
    -Merge tags are available based on the record type selected.
  5. Fill in the needed sections.

While creating the template for any of the modules, the Merge Fields section provides the following options.

  • Field Type
  • Specific Field

Once you select the field types, the merge tag for the selected field will populate in the code block.

  1. Lastly, use the Insert Code button to add the merge tag in the email template.

By default the syntax for the merge tag code is as follows.

Note: Benchmark CRM provides 80 fields by default on an average in each module. Merge tags for the custom fields created are also created per the syntax explained above.
